An Early Eco-City Faces the Future

“If you are truly concerned about the problems of pollution, waste, energy depletion, land, water, air and biological conservation, poverty, segregation, intolerance, population containment, fear and disillusionment,” the poster began. Then, at the bottom, the remedy: “Join us.” An Early Eco-City Faces the Future

We shall not allow the diverse communities of our newly drawn 39th Assembly District succumb to the developer/corpartist/lobbyist driven pathos and greed of the duopolistic poltico.

The fat list of coincidences grows by the minute - asteroids, solar maximum, the heliosphere passing through dense material of the galactic median... say the Great Culling from any one or combination of coincidences reaches 99.73% of the planet's current population. the ratio of billionaires surviving will drop by a couple magnitudes from the current 0.37% leaving 259,000 homo sapiens but the ability to maintain an internet will be practically zero but the remembered recent technologies that we employed at arcosanti, my arcological worshop i attended in 1973 and 1974, (going strong today) will be what the remaining people can aspire to.

I was part of the workshop that constructed the buildings at Arcosanti in 1973 and 1974 (for a simpler and sustainable life that was to have taken root as a societal paradigm) that are shown at the end of this History Channel After Armageddon 9/9 segment at 3:47. Society may not achieve this level. Still the use of showing life at Arcosanti helps point the way to live as one could aspire to after some sort of Armageddon.

Had the windstorm collapsed the scaffolding present to form the concrete panel walls of the square-box-shaped Restaurant building, the concrete waffle slab would have be destroyed had I not scrambled everyone to stop that scaffolding from listing and teetering! There should be workshoppers from that era who can attest to it! There are pictures of us workshoppers, including me, circa 1973, at the end of this video. See if you can pick me out! This article, provides a zeitgeist of my green-values architect professional and environmental and social justice activist groundings.

Green Jobs New Deal - Four Pillars - Ten Key Values

the Green Jobs New Deal that includes my annotations and very much a work-in-progress:
1. Cut military spending at least 90%.
2. Create millions of green Living wage jobs through massive public investment in relocalized renewable energy, mass transit, conservation, food and material production, wildlife corridor and watershed revitalization.
3. Set ambitious, science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, and enact a revenue-neutral carbon tax to meet them. Focus public expenditure on what all plant and animal species are confronting at present and into the interminable future: beyond increasing tipping points of Extreme, Runaway Climate Change Adaptation.
4. Establish universal, quality single-payer "Medicare for all" health care.
5. Fully fund free pre-K through 16 public, lower through higher education.
6. Replace all existing trade agreements with those to improve labor, environmental, consumer, health and safety standards.
7. Decriminalize and regulate marijuana. Treat drug abuse and addiction as a matter of public health, rehabilitation and education rather than a criminal matter.
8. Enact tough limits on credit card interest and lending rates, progressive tax reform and strict financial regulation. Return all illegally seized, bank-held property to their rightful owners. Break up the mega-banks with Local banks that reinvest in the Community.
9. Amend the U.S. Constitution to abolish corporate personhood.
10. Pass sweeping electoral, campaign finance and anti-corruption reforms. Overturn the so-called 'Top-two' Proposition 14. Return all lobbyist donations to the public coffers. Campaign reform with public financing by a check off your tax return - necessary for democracy to be resuscitated. Stop the lobbyist third house from owning the legislators and writing the legislation.
11. Institute proportional representation - retire the electoral 'college' - Implement Instant runoff voting to ensure grassroots democracy and save taxpayer funds spent on elections.

Ten Key Values • Greens in the United States added six more of three paired, complementary Values:
Decentralization, and Community-Based Economics,
Feminism, and Respect for Diversity,
Personal and Global Responsibility, and Future Focus/Sustainability

- to form the "Ten Key Values" subscribed to by Green Parties in locals, Counties, States throughout the US and the US National Green Party.

Survival of human species in the balance

The Green Party's Ten Key Values which form our party's political framework should be reflected in our society's politics, everyday day life and our inter-personal relationships. Without these ethical and moral imperatives at play, the existing political landscape remains dominated by the greed, corporatist, militarist and fraud-based nature of the duopoly party of Democrats and Republicans. This reality has led human culture on earth to the brink of self-annihilation. If we as a human species are to survive as a culture, current political decision-making must be transcended with a commonly-held harmonic convergence to our Green Party's Four Pillars and Ten Key Values.

The international Green Party movement is guided by the "Four Pillars": Ecological Wisdom, Social Justice, Grassroots Democracy, and Nonviolence. Ten Key Values Greens in the United States add six more -- Decentralization, Community-Based Economics, Feminism, Respect for Diversity, Personal and Global Responsibility, and Future Focus/Sustainability -- to form the "Ten Key Values".

I will bring the ethical and moral imperatives of the Greens' Ten Key Values to Sacramento.
